Manager and Executive Coaching

 

The LeadVantage Manager & Executive Coaching is a one-on-one coaching service that provides an objective resource equipped with experience, techniques, and tools to help managers and executives improve.  Our approach is direct and practical based on setting goals and developing plans to meet those goals.  Most importantly, we are passionate about helping our clients improve.

 

The initial focus of our coaching is to identify the unique needs for each manager.  With most clients, the following areas describe the issues that our coaching addresses:

 

  • Making known changes – Often managers already know the changes they need to make and require some combination of clear motivation to change now (e.g., get promoted), a kick start to get over the initial hump, and something to keep them on task when the going gets tough.

 

  • Identifying proven solutions – Historically, managers have faced the same issues. While the solutions to many of these problems are tried and true, it’s not easy for managers to find useful information to solve these commons problems. 

 

  • Adapting solutions – Many times, the proven solutions are useful as a starting point, but managers may need to modify those solutions to more precisely fit them, their teams, and their organizations.

Once we've identified the issues for each manager, we develop a custom plan to address each issue.  Our coaching plans typically include the following components:
  • Personal motivation to change behaviors
  • Proven actions to practice and make changes
  • Easy tools and coaching to support the changes
  • Clear-cut measurements to assess and reinforce the changes

Approach

LeadVantage Consulting customizes our coaching approach to fit the needs and budget of each client. The Manager and Executive Coaching service approach, outlined below, describes the full-service offering and is designed to gather feedback and advise a manager in developing the appropriate skills and improve management behaviors.

1. Perform Situational Analysis

 

Conduct feedback interviews


 

Distribute online manager skill assessment surveys

Skills Assessment Summary – Based on feedback interviews and assessment surveys, LeadVantage delivers an individual assessment that summarizes the feedback.

 

 

2. Create Coaching GamePlan

  Develop and communicate a coaching plan Coaching GamePlan – With input from the assessment, the coach and the participant develop a personalized action plan to build, communicate, and track personal development goals and activities. The plan includes goals, focus areas, action items, target completion dates, and progress information.

 

 

3. Deliver Coaching

 

Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions

 

Coaching Sessions – Regular one-on-one sessions are conducted either in person or on the telephone.
 

Conduct direct manager checkpoint meetings

 

Checkpoint Meetings – Regular meetings with the coach and the manager are held to gather feedback, review progress, and discuss future plans.
  Provide on-demand coaching

On-Demand Coaching – As needed and in addition to the regular coaching sessions, the LeadVantage coach is available for in-person, telephone, or email coaching. On-demand coaching includes sounding board discussions, observation, material review, decision assistance, check-in calls, etc.

 

 

Conduct Checkpoint survey at the end of six months

Checkpoint Survey – Surveys are conducted to measure progress of the coaching and obtain additional feedback.

 

 

4. Implement the Reinforcement Plan

  Execute the Reinforcement Plan Revised Coaching GamePlan – The plan is updated and transitioned to the participant and his or her manager to continue development activities.
